- Initiate Engagement
Find one person each day that is somehow related to the type of work that you do. Explore their account and like 5-10 of their pictures. Leave a genuine comment and give them a follow. This will get your name out there and will encourage others to check out your profile.
By engaging first, sharing your enjoyment of their photos and making it feel real (because it should be), you will help build that relationship. And since we are being honest, all of the people you interact with on social media are business relationships that need to be built on authenticity and respect.
Just because you aren’t physically shaking their hand, first impressions are huge. Make your first impression one to remember by keeping interactions fun, fresh and engaging.
- Be HUMAN
With business relationships flourishing right before your eyes on Instagram, you need to be sure you are available to your audience. Respond back within 12 hours of a comment if possible! By being time conscious, you remind your followers that you are a real person, capable of timely and relevant interactions.
Manage concerns and sub-positive comments in a professional and respectful way. Chances are, if you are respectful, conversational and active within your Instagram community, people will want to interact with you.

Sharing your Instagram post is a great way to get more action and mileage from one post. By linking social networks to your Instagram, you are able to instantly share your post on additional networks.
If you’re looking to showcase more of a unique voice, skip the insta-share and create your own post for each network. Here is the easiest way to share the post or link from your Instagram, while still taking advantage of the option to make it unique.
Do you see those three dots on the right hand side above the caption? Tap there to open up a menu of options.
Here is your menu of options. Click on the “Share” option.
You will be given the following options of places to share! After clicking, you will then be directed to the social network of choice. Share away!
Quick tip: The “Copy Link” option is a great way to share your Instagram post in more places other than what you see listed!
By creating a new post for individual social networks you are able to make it specific to the network you’re working with, i.e., less than 140 characters for Twitter.
One more quick tip: never hesitate to shout out your own accounts! Asking followers to go check out additional networks is a great call-to-action. Sneak peeks are always fun! Help people explore your brand in different lights!
